Nancy and Lewis
Nancy and Lewis at the Heart Hop, Valentines Day, 1953. It was our first date in the freshman year of our high school experience. While we were dancing "September Song" was played. I said to Nancy that "I lke that song". She replied " I like it also". "Then it will be our song" I responded. At 15 years of age, I had no idea what the song was all about. It was one of of those random thoughts that come out in conversation. I must be a natural romantic to have selected that particular song. Now that I am in the September of my life, that song has real meaning for me.

Nancy as Homecoming Queen, Fall 1955. Nancy and I were on top of the world here. She was the Homecoming Queen and I was captain of an undefeated football team that would go on the be state champions. One does not overtly campaign to be Homecoming queen. However, Nancy spent her own meager money to create locker room posters to inspire the team each week. She kept a scrap book of all the team press clippings. Most importantly, she was the most beautiful girl in a school filled with many other pretty girls. It was a great time to be young!
Nancy and Lewis on their wedding day. 1957

Departing on our honeymoon in 1957. It was a false start. The state police stopped our car about 10 miles from here. It seemed that Nancy had left her clothes. Her parents phoned the state police told thm what road we were on and they found us. That could not happen today, the police can not provide a personal service like that any longer. The wedding party moved to where we were and brought Nancy's clothes. The celebration started all over again

Our family in 1966. Nancy is still a raven haired beauty with our two fair children. Beautiful women are wasted on young men. They do not realize what a treasure they have in a beautiful women. They are too busy trying to get ahead in life. They should stop and smell the roses and enjoy their wives and play with their children. There came a point when my career failed me and I fell back on the love of my family. I loved my wife and played with my children. They were my salvation.

The family grew both is size and in love for each other. Multiple generations of Bells and Bridges enjoyed each other for many years.

The cars and trucks were always a part of our lives...
